BRAZOS COUNTY ALIEN LAND REGISTRATIONS, 1922 abstracted by Bill PAGE, COPYRIGHT 2002 In 1921 Texas passed a law requiring aliens who owned land in Texas to register at the county court house. Although aliens were generally prohibited from owning real estate, many had nonetheless acquired land. These records provide information on immigrants which may not appear in other sources. The records indicate that the information was originally filed at the court house, and then later copied into the record book. Thus, errors may have been occurred during that process. p.2.
